The pump in your spa plays a vital role in the overall experience, ensuring optimal water circulation, heating, and spa experience. In this blog, we'll explore the functions of different types of pumps and their contribution to spa performance.
There are three main types of pumps in Hot Tubs: jet pumps, air pumps, and circulation pumps. Each type has a specific purpose and is essential to the operation of your jacuzzi hot tub.
1. Jet pump
The jet pump is responsible for providing power to the massage nozzles in the Outdoor Hot Tub. It draws water from the Hot Tub to create a strong water flow and outputs it from the massage nozzles, thereby producing a hydromassage effect. It’s a common misconception that more jets automatically equate to a better spa experience. Although a hot tub with more nozzles seems to have a richer massage experience, if the massage pump can't provide matching power, the hot tub will not have a good massage effect. Therefore, when purchasing a hot tub, in addition to understanding the number of nozzles, you should also consider the number or power of the jets pump.
The circulation pump in a Spa Tub is one of the core components. It is responsible for circulating water in the spa, pipes, heating system and filtration and disinfection system to ensure uniform water temperature and keep the water clean. The circulation pump works with the heater to continuously push the water flow and promote heat exchange to ensure that the water temperature in the spa can remain consistent. At the same time, the circulation pump also cooperates with the filtration and disinfection system to continuously pump water back to the filter for filtration, remove impurities such as sand, grease, hair, etc. in the water, and transport the water to the ozone disinfection system for sterilization to keep the water clean.
3. Air Pump
The role of air pump is to introduce air into the water. The mixture of air and water can create a soothing bubble effect to enhance the comfort of the Hot Tub Spa. As these bubbles rise in the water, they can create a gentle massaging sensation on the surface of the skin, promote blood circulation, and relieve muscle tension. They are often used with bubble nozzles to enhance the spa experience by adding gentle bubbles to the water.
