1、Ground Load-Bearing Capacity and Flatness
Hardened surfaces like concrete or stone are the preferred installation grounds; they are sturdy, level, capable of bearing weight and resistant to subsidence. If the site is lawn or loose soil, a hardened foundation must be constructed in advance to prevent cabinet deformation caused by ground subsidence in the future.
2、Waterproofing and Drainage Treatment
A drainage slope must be built at the installation spot to avoid standing rainwater pooling and soaking the sauna base. For areas with long rainy seasons and frequent heavy downpours, it is recommended to elevate the installation platform above the surrounding ground. Drainage ditches should be laid around the perimeter to quickly channel rainwater and prevent backflow. Moisture-proof treatment must also be applied to the sauna’s bottom frame to stop mold and deformation of wooden parts from prolonged moisture exposure.
3、Pre-Reserved Water and Electrical Points
Outdoor saunas require power supply and water supply (for models equipped with shower functions). Corresponding pipelines and wiring points shall be reserved beforehand. All outdoor electrical circuits must undergo waterproof treatment, fitted with waterproof distribution boxes and residual current protective devices. Water pipes should be insulated to prevent freezing. Confirm the exact positions of all reserved points with the manufacturer in advance to avoid re-routing wires or pipes after installation.
4、Clear Surrounding Clearance Sufficient for Maintenance
Adequate clearance must be reserved on all sides of the installation area to facilitate door opening, equipment maintenance and routine cleaning. Low-lying areas prone to waterlogging should be avoided during site selection to reduce moisture buildup at the source. A sunshade awning can be installed on-site as needed to shield the sauna from direct sunlight and heavy rainwash, slowing the aging of wooden materials and further prolonging the equipment’s service life.
In summary, thorough site foundation preparation is critical for outdoor sauna installation in rainy and humid regions. Strict compliance with the four preparation steps above ensures smooth installation without rework, reduces equipment breakdown and wear, and guarantees safe, stable and long-term operation of the outdoor sauna.
